Oyo Reps Aspirant Trains Sec. School Students in Ibadan

A People’s Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives aspirant for Ibadan North Federal Constituency in Oyo State, Olanrewaju Sarumi yesterday called for empowerment to reduce the high level of unemployment and restiveness among youths.

Speaking in Ibadan, Sarumi promised to facilitate easy access to quality training for younger ones within his constituency.

He said this after he trained students of  Ọba Akinbiyi High School II, Oremeji, Mokola Ibadan, in the art of using vehicle tyres to make school sandals, adding that his focus is empowerment.  Sarumi, who is from Ibadan city in Oyo State, said he is coming into politics to serve humanity, noting that his agenda or core manifesto would be to impact positively on the youths.

According to him, “my political ambition is to serve as a bridge between the young and old; to repair the seemingly lost partition between the outgoing, incoming and upcoming generation”.

“My focus is to bring a balance and an understanding between skills and strategy and to also practice politics with a human faces”, he added.

Sarumi who said the training would be a recurring one, added that different skills will be brought to the knowledge of residents in Ibadan North through his Non-governmental organization.

The aspirant also said his trainings are geared towards complementing the present administration’s efforts at empowering the youths.

He pledged to assist his constituency by ensuring massive empowerment of the younger ones, in order to boost their economic status.
