“I am indeed delighted to be present here again this morning at the Opening Ceremony of a One-Day Capacity Building Workshop on Personal Effectiveness for Improved Productivity for Officers on GLs. 08-12 in the Oyo State Civil Service.
“In the first place, I want to acknowledge the vision of our energetic, go-getter and dynamic Executive Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde in reinforcing his commitment to staff training and development.
“May I note here that at different times before now, over 300 participants have had the opportunity to undergo this kind of capacity building workshop at the Centre. The theme of this workshop borders on improved office productivity. Office productivity is a major concern for Management. Understanding how to maintain and improve the Civil Service while keeping expenditure in check is a priority for any government,” He said.
The governor, while shedding light on the theme of the capacity building entitled personal effectiveness for improved productivity, Alhaji Siju Lawal emphasized that the training would help participants acquire skills for better service delivery, resource optimization which would in the long run yield greater revenue generation for the government.
He said: “This workshop is therefore aimed at enhancing your productivity through personal effectiveness. Improvement means better, faster, easier, and even more interesting for you and others. These are important factors to consider in the delivery of services in your workplaces on a day-to-day basis.
“You must develop a dynamic approach to work and tackle your job with passion and enthusiasm. You must take due cognisance of details and avoid the “I don’t care attitude”. Especially with the improved staff welfare package, which is being faithfully delivered by the current administration, this is the least you can do for the government of the day.
“By the end of today’s workshop, distinguished participants should have acquired skills for better service delivery, resource optimization, building a positive culture, which in the long run, will yield greater revenue generation for government and greater fulfillment for workers.”
