Twitter Users Frowns At Makinde’s N100 million Donation To Renovate Soun’s Palace

Following Governor Seyi Makinde’s approval of N100 million to renovate the palace of Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, some Twitter Users have expressed their displeasure on the donation of N100 million to renovate the palace and fix properties destroyed by irate youths during Sunday’s protest.

Recalled that the palace was vandalised by irate youths during a visit to the monarch by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Sunday Dare, on Sunday.

But during a visit to the Soun Of Ogbomoso yesterday, Governor Seyi Makinde approved the sum of N100 million to renovate the palace and fix other properties destroyed.

Some of the Twitter users described the donation as a waste of taxpayers money.

Dr Ayo Adeyemi replying to @OgbeniDipo wrote: I have been thinking about the donation, is there anything we can do on this street to make @seyiamakinde reduce the fund he donated to Soun’s palace? Or to double the said amount and present as gift to Jimoh Isiaq’s family.

Another user Promise Simeon tweeted a reply: Wasted arrogantly. Taxpayers money wasted stupidly.

One of the handles @OgbeniDipo tweeted: If the palace in Ogbomoso is getting N100 million, I hope Jimoh’s family will get more.
