The Oyo State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Barrister Lateef Idowu Oyeleke as the new Commissioner for the State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources.
Last week, the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde forwarded the name of the Commissioner designate to the State legislature for screening and approval.
The Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin said the appointment became imperative to fill the vacuum created by the death of Hon Kehinde Ayoola who until his sudden demise was the Commissioner in the Ministry. Late Hon Kehinde Ayoola died on the 14th of May, 2020 after a brief illness.
The Speaker during the screening said Barr Lateef Idowu Oyeleke’s wealth of knowledge and his efficiency as Executive Chairman, Community and Social Development Agency are evidences that the lost ground occasioned by the sudden death of the former Commissioner will be covered in no time.
“The Oyo State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources just like others like it, is pivotal to every Government. Hence, the need for the vacuum to be filled. So we appreciate the Governor for his prompt action in sending another trusted hand as Commissioner nominee to commence work in the Ministry,” Ogundoyin said.
