Covid-19: Oyo Govt Gets N10m From Investor

An investor and Managing Director of the Megamound investment limited, Asiwaju Osunsina has given a donation of N10 million to Oyo State government to cushion the effect of COVID-19 in the state.

Osunsina in a statement issued in Abuja and made available to newsmen, said his decision to donate to the state government became imperative to support the governor’s effort in containing the dreaded coronavirus.

The investor also applauded Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde for the various proactive measures employed to tackle the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

He expressed satisfaction at the measures adopted so far by the state, including the establishment of well-equipped isolation centres, even when the number of confirmed case of the ailment in the state were minimal.

According to Osunsina, the broad and timely measures taken by the Oyo State Government were highly commendable and worthy of support as they have helped in alleviating and containing the spread of the deadly virus.

The statement read in part: “I want to particularly commend Governor Seyi Makinde for his resilience in catering for the wellbeing of the people despite the economic crunch occasioned by the pandemic and reiterated his readiness to work conscientiously with him to overcome the challenge.

“I want to equally pledged to join the government and people of Oyo state as well as the entire country to pray for an end to the spread of the virus. It is in the spirit of supporting the good work of Your Excellency that I hereby give my support N10million donation.

“Also, I wish to urge the people of Oyo state to demonstrate a high level of Patriotism by strictly following directives by the Government such as the use of face masks, regular hand washing and the use of sanitisers to reduce the spread of the disease,” Osunsina stated.
